I wish I was your tampon

Scoozie…just thought THAT would get your attention

well I get up early so just got up an hour earlier to watch “The WEDDING”

it was EVERYTHING I hoped it to be…
in 1981 I – on the West Coast  was on the phone to my Mum on the East Coast (re:Diana and Charles’s wedding)…. …like forever…we could not stop gushing over the gown – the mile long train – the pomp and ceremony – how happy we thought they looked – I did not realize she was a virgin or that that mattered…..or that she was so young – came from a dysfunctional blue blood family…..that it was just a marriage of …well what the Royals did for centuries
and then the affair Charles continued to have  with his main love Camilla who was married – emailing her that he would love to be “her tampon”….which TOTALLY turned me OFF….
and then Di’s death and funeral …
well I think the Royal Family – DID learn how insular they were – especially the Queen…..
 – and Prince William – who looks so much like his mother – and chewed his mouth at one point at the service…. the way she use to when she was slightly nervous….whom she wanted to always grow up exposed more to Reality than the old Royals ever  experienced….
anyway I thought Kate looked sooo beautiful – and EVERYONE (well gays and woman) …wanted to know WHAT her dress would be  like ..
she was just so simply Elegant…with the simple Cartier Diamond Tiara that Queen Elizabeth lent her – for “something borrowed and old”…it was given to Queen Elizabeth on her 18th birthday by her mum who had been given it by her husband George VI…..
.”new” were the diamond earrings that her mum and dad gave her as a wedding present….n “something blue” …was woven into the inside of her gown….
What  I totally LOVED  – and was soo sooo touched by…. that she chose the designer  Sarah  Burton from Alexander McQueen..
n from Wikipedia:
Lee Alexander McQueen, CBE (17 March 1969 – 11 February 2010) was a British fashion designer and couturier best known for his in-depth knowledge of bespoke British tailoring, his tendency to juxtapose female strength and sensuality with fragility in his collections, as well as the emotional power and raw energy of his provocative fashion shows.[2] He is also known for having worked as chief designer at Givenchyfrom 1996 to 2001 and for founding his own label under the name Alexander McQueen.[2] His achievements in fashion earned him four British Designer of the Year awards (1996, 1997, 2001 and 2003), as well as the CFDA’s International Designer of the Year award in 2003.[2]

McQueen was openly gay and said he realized his sexual orientation when very young.[24] He told his family when he was 18 and, after a rocky period, they accepted his sexuality.[5] He described coming out at a young age by saying, “I was sure of myself and my sexuality and I’ve got nothing to hide. I went straight from my mother’s womb onto the gay parade”.[25]

In the summer of 2000, McQueen unofficially married his partner George Forsyth, a documentary filmmaker, on a yacht in Ibiza.[26] The relationship ended a year later and McQueen and Forsyth formed a close friendship.[27]

McQueen received press attention after the May 2007 suicide of international style icon Isabella Blow. Rumours were published that there was a rift between McQueen and Blow at the time of her death, focusing on McQueen’s under-appreciation of Blow.[28] In response to these rumors, McQueen told an interviewer:[18]

It’s so much bollocks. These people just don’t know what they’re talking about. They don’t know me. They don’t know my relationship with Isabella. It’s complete bullshit. People can talk; you can ask her sisters … That part of the industry, they should stay away from my life, or mine and Isabella’s life. What I had with Isabella was completely dissociated from fashion, beyond fashion.

McQueen was an accomplished scuba diver and used his passion as a source of inspiration in his designs, including spring 2010’s “Plato’s Atlantis.” Much of his diving was done around the Maldives.

Death and memorial

Wikinews has related news:British fashion designer Alexander McQueen found dead at age 40

McQueen’s death was announced on the afternoon of 11 February 2010. He was found hanged that morning in his wardrobe[30] by his housekeeper at his home on Green Street, London W1. Paramedics were called and they pronounced him dead at the scene.[1]

McQueen died days before London Fashion Week, though he was not scheduled to show,[31] and nine days after the death of his mother, Joyce, 75, from cancer.[citation needed] David LaChapelle, a friend of the designer said that McQueen “was doing a lot of drugs and was very unhappy” at the time of his death.[32]

McQueen left a note saying “Look after my dogs, sorry, I love you, Lee.”[33] The Metropolitan Police stated that the death was not suspicious, but did not confirm that the death was a suicide.[34]

Sarah Burton worked very CLOSELY with Alexander for years…and is carrying on his line  with her own original Electricity ….

Queen Elizabeth just ALWAYS amazes me at 85 – she is really THE symbol of continuity – of love – for her country and family – she looked so smart in her BRILLIANT YELLOW….I know a lot of people think that the monarchy is past its time – but SHE totally has lasted past all presidents, popes, etc …and CONTINUES to non-stop GIVE….name another person who has done this…..that is her age…..

I think my muse has left the room – as I was originally going to go into a darker  space – as I just had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants….but will leave those thoughts for another day….and am glad I do not have any dogs (just joking Rick)…….

but the friend of mine who was closer to me than anyone in Life for 8 hard working, expensive years – my partner Liz Nesser – whom I mentioned in last weeks blog….died this  Monday
